Okay so you got that guitar you’ve been wanting for so long. You have wanted to become a guitarist and here’s your opportunity.
However, you most likely were not born knowing how to play guitar or any instrument for that matter so some learning will be needed.
Where To Learn How To Play Guitar
You can hire someone to teach you to play guitar, one on one, which can be costly. That’s the way I started but I was so shy I quit shortly after starting, even though it was only $10 an hour. I was too self-conscious I guess.
So next I bought a couple of How To Play Guitar books for the beginner. I should have looked closer because they not only confused me they had really annoying songs from the 50s.
Well that was many years ago, long before the Internet, DVD and even before computers were in our homes. I eventually just gave my Yamaha and books away and moved onto something else.
Now it’s many years later and I decided to learn how to play guitar again. However this time I have some many options, but the one I like the most have to be all the online options, like YouTube, Jamorama.
We also have How To Play Guitar books that come with DVDs and I love seeing examples a whole lot more than trying to follow steps in a book. It’s also pretty easy to just replay a lesson as many times as I need to get it in my head.
The days of few options for learning to play guitar has long past.
The only down side to most methods of learning to play guitar is having your questions and concerns responded to quickly like I’ve found with books and DVDs. Being able to join an online How To Play Guitar site is the way to go today.
Have It All With Online Guitar Lessons
I can be kind of thick sometimes. You can tell me something over and over and I can struggle but show me something once or twice and I learn it so much faster. That’s why I love Youtube videos so much.
The thing about Youtube videos is that I don’t usually get answers when I leave comments. Joining a membership site like Jamorama you will have support and they do respond.
There also are videos you can learn from. This is good as you can visually see what an instructor is doing, and you may also watch the video on your own time. Nevertheless they also leave a lot to be desired as you can’t go in depth, ask questions, or read written material. There are various learning modalities, and using one technique simply doesn’t hit each one of them.
Luckily , the Internet makes it easier than ever to learn how to play the guitar. There are some great guitar lessons online for you to make a choice from. These courses work, because they’ve got a handle on the varied learning methodologies. You can read info, watch the videos to see instructors playing, hear audio, play with audio and even use interactive games and software.
This works so well because you’ll be moved to practice. It’s not just a technique to learn, so you never become bored as there are such a great amount of different chances to learn. Information also will be clear in your mind’s eye as it has come from a variety of sources.
Think about your current lifestyle and what most closely fits your wants. Also, remember what you’re able to afford, and what type of time commitment you’re able to make. Many people will decide to take the interactive online course option as it is simply the most useful method for them!

Hello, my name is James and I have been playing guitar for 10 years now. I was taught by a few friends so I learned a number of bad habits but I’m sure glad they took the time to help me learn how to play guitar.
I was glad when I could start using the Internet, specifically Youtube, to learn things my buddies didn’t know. I have spend hundreds of hours on Youtube and sites where I could download lyrics and chords for songs I grew up with.
I made the decision to hire an instructor to take me to the next level. Well that didn’t last very long as the instructor was very intimidating and had no patience. A number of times I wanted to quit and eventually did as him not to bother returning.
The fact I can’t carry a tune didn’t help of course but a little tact goes a long way. Embarrassing your students isn’t good advertising and I would never recommend one on one training if all instructors are that arrogant.
Online Guitar Courses
I don’t ever want to be in a band or even to play in front of others. I just want to learn how to play guitar so I can sit back and play guitar, all by myself.
None of the people I know well enough can play much in the line of bar chords and that’s what I want to play and understand. I want to be able to play licks up and down the neck of my Yamaha acoustic. But my friends only know basic chords and not too many of those.
I always thought it would be nice to be able to teach my friends and now I do teach them thanks to Jamorama online guitar lesson.
It was so cool the first time I went to a guitar jam and actually showed them how to play a couple of new songs. Even taught them how to use a couple of bar chords, which has now increased the number of songs we jam to.
I’ve always done better at my own pace anyways and that’s one of the things I love about Jamorama. The lessons are explained and easy to follow for a beginner like I was.
Jamorama is so confident with their guitar instruction they have a free lesson section you can try out to see for yourself.
I found very quickly that I was on the right track I just needed to learn a few basics that had been missing to play the music I wanted, but Jamorama is more then just a guitar tutorial for beginners , you get jam tracks each week so you can jam along in private and have fun learning at the same time, no one telling you your not doing it the right way just, easy to understand step by step approach to playing guitar.
Jamorama has a great online community that you can ask questions in and not feel like an idiot and their online teachers are fantastic. With Jamorama you not only learn to play guitar you become part of an online family that have the same interest and goals.
I am now playing the stuff I had been struggling with and my friends all want to know how I have improved so quickly. (haven’t told them yet) Anyway whether you are just starting out or like me need more advanced lessons Jamorama guitar lessons online is the place to go, they even have free lessons to get you started so you have nothing to loose.
